ECAT abbreviation of Engineering college Admission test and this test is necessary for all students who wants to take admission in engineering universities. Almost all well known engineering universities of Punjab consider it as a best tool for engineering and their admissions are based on this test .

ECAT Test format Syllabus
ECAT based on FSC course, it includes four subjects which are.

Unlike ECAT there are two types of groups in prerequisite test of Engineering colleges and universities. There is difference syllabus for both inter in computer science and pre engineering subjects. ECAT COMPUTER SYLLABUS
Knowledge of computer syllabus is necessary to excel ECAT exams. Questions will be from books of fsc but basic conceptual question can be asked.

ECAT Test pattern
ECAT written Test pattern is same for all the universities in Pakistan like all the provinces which work under the federal government. Their test includes above mentioned four subjects. ECAT Test consist 100 MCQS each of them have 4 marks. There is also negative marking on it. For every correct answer there are 4 marks, on wrong answer -1 and if left it blank you get 0. Total time allowed for test is 100 minutes. There MCQS are dividing in the following way.

- Chemistry/computer 30 Mcq’s
- English 10 Mcq’s
Eligibility criteria:
Students who have 60% marks in their matriculation and intermediate are eligible to take an Engineering college test.

The engineering programs admission depends upon the marks obtained in pre admission test SSC and HSSC. Those candidates who passed the written test with excellent marks are able to get admission in ECAT.
